Overview

Gemocide is a puzzle game with no time limits, random scoring, or fast reactions needed. Gemocide puzzles normally have many possible solutions, some easier to find than others.

The challenge is not only to complete the puzzles, but to complete them in as few moves as possible.

There are two versions of Gemocide, the standard version and a free 'Lite' version. See the sections on each for more details.

"Chewing gum for the mind"

"You can build your own fiendishly difficult level then challenge your mates to beat it!"

"Some of the levels seem megasneaky and ultra-difficult but maybe that's just my brain working on weird tracks 'cos others came easier than I expected"

Gemocide full version overview

The seven tutorial puzzles introduce each of the four gems, their effects, and how they interact with the other pieces in the game.

Once you have completed the tutorial, you can start on the main puzzles. Completing one unlocks the next even if you took a lot of moves to do it.

You will earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal depending on how many moves it took you to complete a puzzle.

Getting all gold medals in a zone might unlock a new graphical theme to use for the whole game.

Puzzle designer

The built in puzzle designer lets you create your own puzzles to challenge your friends. Can you create a puzzle that is so hard, they can't get a gold medal on it?

Can they create a puzzle that you can't solve?

Sharing puzzles that you have created is as simple as saving them to your photo album and then sharing them as you would any other pictures. Email them, put them on your website, on our Facebook page, or wherever you like.

Anyone with the full version of Gemocide can download the puzzle to their iPod/iPhone/iPad and bring it into their own custom levels.

Gemocide Lite overview

The seven tutorial puzzles introduce each of the four gems, their effects, and how they interact with the other pieces in the game.

Once you have completed the tutorial, you can start on the main puzzles. Completing one unlocks the next even if you took a lot of moves to do it.

You will earn a bronze, silver, or gold medal depending on how many moves it took you to complete a puzzle.

Unlike the full version though, earning gold medals doesn't unlock any additional themes.

Object of the game

The game only has a few simple rules, but puzzles can quickly become complex as the pieces start interacting.

Unlike most puzzle games, the pieces you use will change as they collide with other pieces, making the whole game dynamic. You will often have to use these interactions to create pieces that you need to complete a level.
